It’s not the feminine stuff that is the problem. The problem is the expectation that anybody who is perceived as a woman dress a certain way, wear a certain kind of clothes, behave a certain way, whatever.
The problem is that feminine things are only for people with vaginas and boobs.
The problem is that feminine things are seen as less valuable than masculine things.
The problem is the enforcement and the shaming when you’re not feminine.
Rejecting the feminine can be an important critique of oppressive gender roles so long as that critique doesn’t turn into actual hatred of femininity.
If you want to witness the collision of poverty in America, sexual health stigma, and the fissures in our healthcare system, volunteer for an abortion fund. Granting money is a privilege, and doing it for something so critical as abortion access – so heavily under assault in this country – is an honor. And if you want to counteract anti-women sentiment and policies in this country, donate to one. Abortion may be legal, but if you cannot afford it, it is not accessible.
…
The idea that an abortion shouldn’t be paid for by the government comes from the broader stigma of abortion – that it’s a luxurious service we seek after we (women) do something bad. It’s this notion that receiving financial aid for the consequences of our promiscuity or carelessness only reinforces for lack of virtue. Or, more simply put, it’s a financial slut- shaming.

I’ve been introduced to this amazing new band in Japan, called ziyoou vachi.
The lead singer is a black and Japanese trans girl, and her sister is also in it, as the drummer (I bleevs the drummer, but you’ll recognize them both off the bat).
But lemme tell you? This girl is a damn good performer and I loved this video and I loved the mix of lows and highs and everything about this video makes me happy, pretty much.
Only crit is that the lead singer clearly has medium brown skin, but every time they show her, she’s been paled out so much in the video that the one point they actually show her real skin tone I didn’t even RECOGNIZE HER.
Mostly a good job, but can we let the lead singer have her NATURALLY brown skin please? Kthx.
Oh, and for those who can’t read Japanese, I’ll leave their names here:
Vocalist: Avu-chan
Bass: Yashi-chan
Drummer: Ruri-chan
Guitar: Gigi-chanI love….I love this.
representing Black Asians! :)
I reblogged this yesterday but I need it back on my page again.
Those first 5 seconds give me so much life (let alone the entire video).
i’m really glad about this for another reason, too, because omg i am totally not into the kind of music laura grace makes and i want to listen to trans women sing ^^
I need to learn your aristocratic ways! So faaaaab
